2010 HIGHLIGHTS EDITION
2010 has been interesting and challenging. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you who have come in over the past year. I've gotten to work on many exciting audio and music projects! Here is a short list of highlights:
Joachim Back - "The New Tenants" - Wins an OSCAR!
JGMP recorded music elements for a short film called "The New Tenants", by filmmaker Joachim Back, starring Vincent D'Onofrio, David Rakoff, Liane Balaban, Kevin Corrigan and Jamie Harrold. "The New Tenants" won the 2010 Academy Award for Best Short Film. Many thanks to composer/producer Sam Bisbee for bringing us on board!

My Changing Planet Product Launch- Whole Foods Retail Tie-in
The My Changing Planet CD, a timely, family friendly collection of environmentally conscious songs and stories, is a collaboration between JGMP and My Changing Planet.com, for the benefit of The Nature Conservancy. Jon wrote and performed all but one of the musical arrangements, and served as principal engineer. Guest performers included Joan Osborne, The Wiyos, Lucy Woodward, Everett Bradley, Edie Carey, Toby Lightman and many more. MCP was featured in the April edition of Redbook magazine, and scored a plum retail tie-in with Whole Foods outlets. Many thanks to Jennifer Marks, Jessica Hoffman, Heather Staples and Maya Churi of My Changing Planet, whose inspiration and dedication made the project possible.
Lisa Lowell "Beautiful Behaviour"
JGMP mastered singer/songwriter Lisa Lowell's groundbreaking album "Beautiful Behaviour". Lisa works frequently with Bruce and Patti Springsteen, who are also featured on the CD, as is E Street Band member Soozie Tyrell. The stunning production is by Lincoln Schliefer.
James Reams and the Barnstormers "One Foot in the Honky-Tonk"
JGMP completed tracking, mixing and mastering this powerful traditional bluegrass CD, by James Reams and the Barnstormers, a legend of the local bluegrass scene. As a long-time fan of James, as well as his mastering engineer of choice on several previous CDs, it was particularly gratifying to have a chance to make a record with him from start to finish!
Marco Joachim "Hidden Symphonies"
Jon wore his producer/arranger/multi-instrumentalist hat for this project, now in production after more than a year in the making. Featuring layers upon layers of guitars, synths, sound design, string and horn arrangements, the CD was a labor of love for both artist and producer, with a big tip of the hat to influences such as Jeff Lynne and Paul McCartney. Hidden Symphonies also features Joe Mardin on drums, a crack string quartet led by cellist Jeanne LeBlanc, and a horn section led by Aaron Heick.
Out with the Old...
Here at JGMP, 2010 is showing no signs of slowing down even at the tail end. We recently completed work for Ronnie Lawson Productions on music for several industrial shows, and are in the middle of a commission to develop library music for Killer Tracks. A number of indie album projects are in the works. We can't wait to see what 2011 will bring!
Best wishes to all for a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!
