SPRING 2010 EDITION
Hi All:
Looking out my window upstate
at the last few snowdrifts that have not quite melted
off, I am not sad at all to bid the winter goodbye.
It will be interesting to see what 2010 holds in store.
Here is the current news:
Joachim Back
- "The New Tenants" - OSCAR!
Some months ago, we did a session
for producer Sam
Bisbee and filmmaker Joachim
Back, recording strings, horn section and vocals
for the closing credits of a short film called "The
New Tenants". The film featured Vincent D'Onofrio,
David Rakoff, Liane Balaban, Kevin Corrigan and Jamie
Harrold. The JGMP session featured arrangements and
contracting by violinist Claudia
Chopek, and saxophonist Sam
Bortka, as well as vocals by Sam Bisbee.
We are very pleased to announce
that "The New Tenants" just won an Academy Award for
Best Short Film!

KAILIN
GARRITY, SAM BISBEE:
More recently, Sam Bisbee has
been back with a new discovery: singer/writer Kailin
Garrity. Kailin breathes new life into the terms
lovely and talented. We have been pre-producing and
recording songs for an as yet untitled project. Watch
for this young lady!

ALL STAR
HORN SECTION
As the Marco
Joachim/Hidden Symphonies project approaches the
final mixing and mastering stage, we were fortunate
to enlist the aid of an all-star horn section, led by
multi reed player/arranger Aaron Heick. The section
consisted of: Aaron Heick - tenor sax (Barbra Streisand,
Richard Bona), Jim Hynes - trumpet/piccolo trumpet (Paul
Simon), Mike Davis - trombone (Rolling Stones), Roger
Rosenberg - bari sax (Steely Dan). Many thanks to Aaron
for assembling such a stellar group!

MY CHANGING
PLANET PRODUCT LAUNCH AT A WHOLE FOODS OUTLET
NEAR YOU
Recently I heard from Jennifer
Marks, one of the principal writers of the My
Changing Planet CD. After a brief, pre-Christmas
preview release, they are busily planning their official
Spring launch. MCP is to be featured in the April edition
of Redbook magazine, and will be available at the counters
of all Whole Foods outlets in April and May. It was
my pleasure to be principal arranger, producer, engineer
and instrumentalist on this project. We wish them all
the best for this timely, environmentally friendly release!
