Hi All:

As I write this we are having a quiet July 4th. A rare opportunity to relax mid-week. Hope you are having a great Summer too!

Jon Gordon Music Production is a prime provider of audio and music recording and production services. We can tailor our approach to your needs. Studio tours, consultations, budget estimates, etc. are available free, on request.  Here is our current news:

Eytan Mirsky — Year of the Mouse Released

If Elvis Costello and Larry David had an illegitimate child, the tyke might be something like Eytan Mirsky. An eclectic and often wickedly funny songwriter, Eytan's songs have been featured in the Todd Solondz movies "Happiness" and "Palindromes", as well as "American Splendor" and indie film "The Tao of Steve". "Year of the Mouse" is Eytan's 5th CD. Recorded and mixed at Jon Gordon Music Production and  Shelter Island Sound, it is a powerhouse of power pop! And now you can get your very own copy! Available from iTunesBandCamp and Spotify at last count. As a download,or a CD in the eco-friendly sleeve illustrated below. Raves are coming in from all over the globe!

Eytan Mirsky — Year of the Mouse

Singer/bassist/songwriter  Amy Madden's new CD "Discarded Angels" is sequenced, mastered and currently in replication at Disc Makers.  It is scheduled for release by the Swedish label, Belpid Records. Availability in the U.S. TBA.

"Discarded Angels" will be Amy's first album of original material since the EP length "Minor Disturbances" on One Big Guitar records. I was fortunate enough to be involved in both recordings. The album is very stark and reflects Amy's often disturbing visions of life and the world.

In addition to Amy, who covers vocals, guitar and electric and acoustic bass, players on the album include: Steve Holley (Wings) on drums, Jon Paris (Johnny Winter) on harmonica, Ian MacDonald (King Crimson) on alto sax, Bill Christophersen on fiddle, Rob Thomas on cello and JG on slide guitar and mandolin.

I was honored and pleased when producer/engineer Steve Addabbo came in recently to record me on lap steel overdubs for an upcoming Eric Andersen CD.  Nice to take a break from engineering!

My latest library disc for Killer Tracks/Universal, called "Nice Pop" is now online. Many thanks to Kay Story and Wes Hutchinson, whose help and collaboration on this project was invaluable.

Going into the summer there are more exciting Killer projects on the boards, but it's just a little too early to give details...

Singer/songwriter Amy Fix came in with producer Dan Martin and guitarist Barry Kornhauser. We recorded several cuts for a new CD to go into full production in the fall.

Amy Lennard's new CD is due imminently. Title TBA. Brian McNeese continues to work on his second JGMP recorded CD. Our old friend Sarah Nagourney came in to remaster some of her catalog. We recently had the pleasure of working with Foster and Cliff - NYU professors by day, edgy songwriter/performers by night!

And that's a wrap for now. Hope to see you soon!

Best wishes,
